experience in site works, most notably in remote locations (a necessity for a

The management team behind Alltype Engi­neering Services maintains a

valued at $3.8 million, and the trunk main from Kwinana desalination plant to
the Thomsons Lake reservoir ($1.4 mil­lion). Also worth noting is the
construction, sup­ply, fabrication and installation of MSCL cooling water
pipework for Bluewater Power Station, and installation of below ground services
pipework (also for the Bluewater Power Station).
Beyond that, if you ever happen to visit the main office and fabrication site
located in the Naval Base in Kwinana, you can see Alltype Engineering Services
work for yourself—it is the location of their headquarters. The business
is situated on two lots of land with over two hectares and three separate
workshops and an office.
All the carbon steel and general fabrication done by Alltype Engineering
Services is carried out in a huge, 1260 square metre, fully enclosed workshop
that boasts two 10-tonne overhead gantry cranes. Following that, processing is
done in an adjacent workshop. The company’s stain­less steel
fabrication and clean assembly work gets done in a separate workshop of 660
square metres, which also has a self-contained, fully-equipped service bay for

Heavy fabrication

additional workshop adjacent to the existing carbon steel workshop for the sole
purpose of housing automated steel pro­cessing equipment. Not only for their
own require­ments, but also to process pipe and structural for other
fabricators.
Recently, the company director decided to invest in computer-driven automated
steel processing equipment. This is meant to assist in the main areas of
fabrication. Both machines have greatly improved fabrication accuracy, resulting
in superior quality and end product. This ‘robot’ can cut almost any
shape in structural steel. And when you couple high-definition plasma with
robotics, you create an extremely efficient processing system that almost
completely eliminates human error. With these machines, Alltype Engineering
Services can provide higher quality with quicker delivery.
The CNC pipe processing machine is the largest of its type in Australia and
capable of processing carbon steel and stainless steel pipe up to 13.5 m in
length from 80 NB through to 2000 NB with a wall thickness range from 1.6 mm up
to 100 mm. With this machine, Alltype Engineering Services is more than
competitive in the structural steel market, and it can process the full range of
structural steel, including chan­nels and columns beams, from 18 metres
long, 900 wide, 400 deep.
