Has the UK cracked carbon cuts with marine energy?
IRJ Mar 16 - In the United Kingdom, a newly-released report known as The Marine Energy Action Plan, could potentially offer thousands of new jobs, power up to 15 million homes and offer a great solution to the UK’s carbon emissions cuts.
"Harnessing the power of our seas will help us reduce our carbon emissions, provide clean, green, secure and reliable energy, create jobs and provide export opportunities,” Lord Hunt, UK Energy Minister summarised.
"This Action Plan sets out our vision for what marine energy can do for the UK and what we need to do to make it happen."
Capable of saving up to 70 million tonnes of carbon and creating 16,000 jobs, The Marine Energy Plan is being welcomed by green energy and carbon emissions proponents worldwide.
