Obama pledges $1.85 billlion to solar job creating and pioneering power project

IRJ July 5 - Over in the United States, Obama’s quest for turning the
nation further towards clean energy rages on. The President has approved $1.85
billion of solar funding and announced that these loan guarantees will generate
5,000 jobs and enable the first 24-hour power generation solar plant in the
nation.
This plant, planned by Abengoa Solar, of Spain, has gained the company $1.45
billion in loan guarantees for the Solana solar farm near Gila Bend, Arizona,
poised to power around 70,000 homes.
Hot on the heels of recent reports citing progress in the Department of Energy
(DoE) energy efficiency investment scheme, this latest financial commitment is
great news for USA solar.
