The International Resource Journal: Uranium discovery in Indonesia Uranium discovery in Indonesia ================================================================================ Resource News on 02 September, 2010 05:55:00 IRJ Sep 2 - Indonesia’s International Nuclear Energy Agency says that they have a basis for building nuclear power plants with their 53,000 ton reserve of uranium. There is an estimated 24,000 tons of uranium in Bangka Belitung Province. 29,000 tons of uranium in the Province of West Kalimantan, according to the deputy for development of cycle technology of nuclear substance and engineering at the National Nuclear Energy Agency, Dr. Djarot S. Wisnubroto. Regardless of the excess of uranium Djarot claims the country may not be mining there because of the cheap price in uranium. He said to press,"It would be more efficient for us to buy it from other countries," he advised. "The uranium reserve could be used for the future."
